As of January 2022, the minimum wage for non-tipped employees will go up from $8.80 to $9.30 per hour. Any tipped employees will have their base paygo from $4.40 to $4.65 an hour.

This increase is the result of a constitutional amendment voted on in 2006 by the citizens of Ohio that raises the minimum wage in the state each year based on the Consumer Price Index that increases it to meet inflation. However, Ohio businesses with gross receipts of less than $342,000 in 2021, and for those workers under the age of 16, the minimum wage remains $7.25, which is the federal minimum wage.
