Several industries have been hit hard by the Covid-19 pandemic, but no industry has been hit harder than the food service industry. With supply chain issues, Covid-safety protocol being hastily put into place and the overall shortage of available workers, small restaurants around the country are suffering.
Rural King, “America’s Farm and Home Store,” based in Mattoon, IL, is expanding its current operations in southern Ohio, in collaboration with JobsOhio, Ohio Southeast Economic Development (OhioSE), the Ohio Development Services Agency, and Pike County Economic & Community Development.
As of January 2022, the minimum wage for non-tipped employees will go up from $8.80 to $9.30 per hour. Any tipped employees will have their base paygo from $4.40 to $4.65 an hour.
